Sometimes it plays a game with me where it is on-off-on-of or 8 times before it quits. I have to click on another part of the screen to get it to vanish.
When I search Google it always says it is Cortana popping up, so I dunno. It is the one you get with the magnifying glass icon in the taskbar.
